Experience & Enthusiasm
Anne is an experienced and enthusiastic teacher of all ages and levels! In addition to maintaining a private studio in St. Louis, MO and a distance-learning studio online, Anne has coached through Indiana University's Pre-College Recorder Program, the Amherst Early Music Festival, the San Francisco Early Music Festival, the Virginia Baroque Performance Academy, Mountain Collegium, Catacoustic Consort's Community Recorder Program, and for numerous American Recorder Society chapters. Anne teaches students of all ages and levels; students have ranged in age from 6-83, and in level from beginners through pre-professionals. Teaching is a passion for Anne.
Lessons
Anne offers individual and group lessons in one hour, half-hour, or 45 minute increments out of her home studio in St. Louis, Missouri. Lessons can be arranged on a weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly basis. Anne's philosophy of teaching combines comprehensive technical instruction with fun! Music is, and should be, a source of great joy, and learning the recorder is a wonderful way to introduce the joy of music into your life or the life of your child. Read testimonials.

Workshops
Anne offers workshops and presentations of varying length, level, and topic depending on the needs of your group. Recent workshop presentations have focused on ornamentation, articulation, practicing, Renaissance "pop" tunes, dance in music, and more. All sessions are interactive, entertaining, and joyful. Anne has most recently led workshop sessions in Colorado, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Arizona, California, and Florida. Read testimonials.
Distance Learning
Do you live far away from flesh-and-blood teachers? Do you own a computer with a webcam? Join Anne online (through FaceTime, Skype, Google chat, etc.) for effective, efficient long-distance lessons. Learn the recorder without leaving your living room."To find an instructor with this degree of knowledge and training dedicated specifically to an early music instrument like the recorder is rare. Anne has been dedicated to the recorder since the beginning of her musical training. Really, the only way to find a quality instructor such as her 'near you' is on line.
